Online Therapy Across Ontario

Therapy works best when it actually fits into your life. With online sessions, you can get support from home, your car on a lunch break, or really anywhere private where you can settle in, without adding a commute to an already busy week.

I offer online therapy for individuals and couples anywhere in Ontario. Sessions happen over secure video, and they can feel a lot like being in the room together. Same approach, same care, just from wherever you're most comfortable.

Why people choose online therapy

A lot of people find it easier to open up when they're in a space that already feels familiar. For others, it just comes down to what's practical. Maybe you're juggling work, school, kids, or a long commute. Maybe you live outside Hamilton, or in a smaller community where it's harder to find a therapist who feels like the right fit.

Online therapy might be a good fit if you:

  • Have a pretty full schedule and would rather skip the travel time

  • Live anywhere in Ontario and are looking for a specific kind of support

  • Feel more comfortable talking from your own space

  • Want sessions that stay consistent, even when there's bad weather, traffic, or a sick day

Online therapy for individuals

In individual sessions, we focus on what's going on for you right now and the patterns sitting underneath it. I work with adults who are dealing with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, emotional overwhelm, relationship struggles, and big life changes like a new job, a move, a breakup, or becoming a parent.

Together, we look at how your nervous system responds to stress, what's helped you cope so far, and what you'd like to feel different. Depending on your goals, I might draw on approaches like EMDR, CBT, DBT, or solution-focused therapy.

Trauma therapy online

If you're working through past experiences that still show up in your body, relationships, or daily life, trauma-focused therapy can help your nervous system feel safer over time. This includes EMDR, which can be done effectively over video.

Online couples therapy

Couples therapy online can feel surprisingly natural. You can join together from the same room, or from separate places if that works better with your schedules. A lot of couples actually find it helpful to be at home, since that's usually where the hard conversations happen, and it gives you a chance to practice new ways of talking to each other right in that space.

I work with couples on communication, trust, feeling emotionally connected, those same arguments that keep coming back, and feeling more like a team again. My approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and the Gottman Method, and both work really well over video.

Premarital counselling online

Getting married or moving in together? Premarital sessions give you space to talk through expectations, finances, family, conflict, and what you each want your partnership to look like, before those conversations happen under pressure.

What to expect

Before your first session, you’ll receive a secure link and some intake forms to fill out online. All you really need is a private space, a good internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or laptop with a camera and microphone. If you share your home with other people, headphones can help too.

At the start of each session, I might check in about where you're joining from. This is just a normal part of online therapy, and it means we have a plan in place if you ever need a bit of extra support during a session.

Sessions happen on a secure, privacy-compliant video platform, and everything you share stays confidential, just like it would in person.

Is online therapy right for me?

For a lot of people, online therapy feels just as effective and comfortable as meeting in person. That said, there are times when in-person sessions might be a better fit, like if it's hard to find a private space at home, or if you don't feel safe at home. If you're not sure what would work best for you, we can talk it through during a free consultation and figure it out together.

Fees and insurance

Online sessions are billed the same way as in-person sessions. I offer direct billing to most major insurance providers and am a registered NIHB provider. Most extended health plans cover virtual psychotherapy with a Registered Social Worker, but it's always a good idea to check your specific plan.
